Biking on the Lake

This afternoon Jeff decided he wanted to take Anna Kate for a bike ride on the walking trail in town. It borders the lake and is beautiful. (Mama didn't make the trip, opting to stay curled up with a good book (any guesses on the book?) ). And knowing Jeff didn't want to lug the big camera on their venture out, you will have to settle for edited camera phone pictures...

Someone is getting tired...
And, someone is pooped...

Honorary Cullen

Yep, that's ME!!! I’m obsessed!!! A friend of mine talked me into reading the first book in the Twilight series, promising that I would love it. So, I hesitantly put the book in my bag with the intent of never cracking it open. (Vampires, werewolves – ummm, just too freaky for me, thank you very much. Now, give me a good clean love story and I won’t put it down until I’m finished.) But, after going to three stores, I couldn’t find a book to read (this Podunk town has NOTHING), so I opened Twilight……

I am starting the third book tomorrow and I absolutely can’t wait. This story has me wanting to read at all hours of the day & night. Seriously, I have read as late as 2 AM, as early as 6:30 AM, and everywhere in between!

My sister-in-law Stacy sent me a book yesterday in the mail to read and I told her I would take a break from the Twilight series and read her book. Sorry sis, I don’t think I can.

Just sayin…

Anna Kate's Weekend!

This weekend has pretty much been all about Anna Kate. Saturday, despite the cold temperatures (and against my better judgement), I took her to a princess and pirate birthday party outdoors. Both Anna Kate and I are sick with a head & chest cold, so I knew it would be best if we skipped it, but it was for two of her best friends...The party was cute and everyone had a good time. However, when we got home, I paid for my decision!!! Anna Kate was G R O U C H Y! She was so tired and didn't feel well. Needless to say a nice warm bath and an early bedtime soon followed.

Today we watched two movies; Horton Hears A Who and Beauty and the Beast. We went outside to play a little and spent time in the playroom, and now I'm officially pooped.

Tomorrow is a holiday for all three of us, so we'll spend more quality time together and I'll hopefully get something done in this house. But then again...

How sweet and adorable is this smile?

Which one is better - color or black & white?

She is finally starting to enjoy having her picture taken. Wonder how long it will last?

I LURVE those cheeks!!!

Again, color or black & white?

Name Dropping

Last night Anna Kate and I had the house to ourselves (Jeff was out of town on business). She begged me to take a bath with her, so I did and I decided she needed to practice writing. We got out her bath crayons and she started writing names of people in the family. Well, apparently the process was too lengthy and required more energy than she had, so I ended up with the job. I wrote the names exactly how she said them. Sorry mom & dad, but you got your 'real' names last night ;c) (oh, but for those who don't know, my mom is not really Trena-beana, it's just Trena, lol). And how sweet that she included Dixie...

First Snow Storm of 2009

And it's not in South Alabama, I can assure you. However, as of right now, my parents have over 18" of snow, with 2" of ice expected tonight. It's just not fair. I remember growing up in West Virginia and having an occasional heavy snow to play in on the weekends. My brother Jay and I would get on the sled and make numerous trips up and down our grandmother's yard. It was a steep hill, and once, *sorry Jay*, my brother peed his pants in his snowsuit because he couldn't make it back up the hill, shed all the snow gear and get to the bathroom in time. I joke that at least he was warm for a few seconds ;c)

Anyway, seeing these pics my mom sent reminded me of my childhood, and that makes me want SNOW! Rich Thomas stated on last night's weather report that there is a very small (next to nil) chance of winter precipitation next week. I am not holding my breath though....

"You Rock!"

That is the theme for this year's Valentine's Day card. I had it all planned out in my head.....until the subject matter decided that what I had picked out was not.at.all what Hannah Montana wears. Sheesh, what was I thinking.... She pitched an absolute fit over the hair style I made her wear and then didn't want to wear the one accessory that makes the picture. That was until I bribed her ;c)

I vowed that I would take pictures today, considering I haven't picked up my camera since Christmas....and I was successful :c) Oh, two more....
The other two children in the family!

A Room Rearranged....again

Everyone knows how much I love my 'things' in my house. I love moving stuff around, rearranging furniture, swapping one room to another, etc. Well after Christmas, Anna Kate had several large items/toys that needed to go in her room instead of the playroom...the problem was there was no room. So I got in there one day and moved things around some. I love how it turned out! I think her bedroom is my absolute favorite room in our entire house. It's absolutely perfect. And what good would this post be without pictures...

The reading nook

The entertainment side of the room.
She loves it in there, which makes me very, very happy. I dreamed for YEARS about decorating my little girl's room and it thrills me that she loves it :c)
Okay, so my new project for the weekend (and I will work myself to the bone to get it done) is to convert her playroom into a 'girls' room' for she & I both. I want half of the room to be for her and half for me. I'll keep the same colors in there (pink, green & purple), but I want a place to sit with my laptop or a good book while she plays. She so doesn't enjoy going in her playroom by herself and she gets bored easily, but if I can go in there and do my thing, maybe she will be happier doing hers. That's my plan anyway....we shall see. I will keep you up to date on the progress.
Anna Kate made it through the week back at school without getting in trouble. WaHoo!!! Of course, we bribed her with a new game for her Leapster Learning Game System, but hey, whatever works, right?!
And before I close, I want to introduce my sister-in-law and welcome her to the world of blogging, which happens to be my therapist ;c)

Ringing in the new year...

I know this is a week late, but I'm just now getting around to updating my blog. You know how it is returning back to work and school after a long break...

We decided to spend New Year's Eve with friends of ours at their house, and after waiting 45 minutes for take out pizza, we finally arrived to ring in the new year. We had such a good time and as usual, Duane and Jennifer were GREAT entertainment ;c) . Sadly, the only picture I took of the evening was this attempt at a New Year's kiss taken with my Blackberry.

So, do you think he was successful???

We enjoyed it guys, and look forward to celebrating together for many years to come :c)

A New Project

For those of you that know me well, you know I always have a project going. I think I inherited it from my mom :c) Anyway, my friend Spring sent me a link to an adorable 'CD Case Calendar'. Neither of us could figure out what on earth it was or what purpose the CD case served....until we looked at the picture. Well as soon as I saw it I knew I had to make one! And then of course, when I finished it I started thinking of all the people I knew that would love it. So, here you go - tell me what you think. I can't take credit for the whole thing.....it was a template.

Now, who wants one???
