Awww, aren't they cute?!

This afternoon we decided to head outside for a mini-photo shoot with Anna Kate and my parents. I think they turned out great!!!

Aren't they a cute couple!!!

See mom, I told you I could get a good pic of you :c)

You too dad ;c)

Before mom and dad made the trip South, they filled a canister full of Lake Erie snow. Anna Kate had so much fun making snow balls and throwing them at her Pops. I know they are sick of the snow and subzero temperatures, but I would love one week of it. Just one week...*sigh*

Mom and Dad leave tomorrow morning. We will all be sad to see them go. We enjoyed our VERY short four days together. If anyone has access to three round trip airline tickets from Atlanta to Toledo/Detroit, you know how to reach us......

Christmas 2008

After much preparation and work, this Christmas holiday has come and gone. Not without a lot of fun and time spent together though.
Making our annual Christmas Eve cupcakes
Anna Kate celebrates the baby Jesus' birthday every year
Then she & Jeff went to put the Reindeer food out, complete with magic sparkles for Rudolph's nose ;c)
And of course milk and a special cookie for Santa
Santa's delivery!!!
She LOVED her chair! (So does her mama - why wasn't Pottery Barn Kids around when I was little?)
Opening a special gift from a friend :)
Look what it was...
We couldn't forget the other members of our family:
Bell playing with her pink diamond ring toy.
All three of the 'children' playing
My parents are in town for a week and arrived Christmas afternoon. We were all excited to see them, but Anna Kate was about to lose her mind waiting on them.
Here she is patiently waiting......NOT!
Time to open presents from MiMi & Pops Miller!
Pops; well, he just couldn't pass up the opportunity to shine...
Probably my favorite photo of the day - Jeffrey in a recent addition to his collection of accessories :-) He HATES the fact that he has to wear reading glasses since turning 40 (ha, ha)
Anna Kate finally gets a Wii game just for her (although mama has played, but I was just testing it...)
And that was our Christmas. I hope each of you had a blessed, safe, happy and wonderful Christmast holiday. Until next year.....

School Christmas Party

Anna Kate had her class Christmas party Friday morning. She was so excited that I would be coming and she had no idea Jeff would be making a surprise appearance as well. It was a cute little party, full of appropriately decorated goodies, chips, etc. We came home with loads of little gifts and cards (that I have to find a place for now...). And you KNOW, Anna Kate was the cutest by far :c)

Well, I don't know what to call this...

But this is what happens when I leave my lipstick easily accessible.

A Passport to Christmas

Anna Kate had her children's Christmas program tonight at church. The children have practiced every Wednesday night for months and they did such a wonderful job. It was amazing to see what the future of our church looks like with all of the beautiful children singing their little hearts out.

The program was titled "A Passport to Christmas" and featured songs like;

Silent Night
Go Tell it on the Mountain
Celebrate Christmas Day
God Said
His Wondrous Gift
Hurry, Hurry to Bethlehem
Carol of the Angels
O Come, Little Children

There were solo's, readings and instruments. The choir teachers did a fabulous job!!!

And I know I'm in trouble with the grandparents, but I rushed out of the house without the video camera...*DUCKING* I'm so sorry :c(

"Simply AnnaK"

Two months ago a friend of mine and I decided we wanted to make spa-quality gifts for Christmas, and Friday night, we finally got around to it. This was something we really wanted our daughters, Anna Kate and Kaitlyn (Anna Kaitlyn), to participate in too, as the gifts will primarily be for teachers and friends.

We made Eucalyptus/Lemon Sugar Scrub, Peppermint Bath Salt and Spearmint Lip Balm, although the lip balm is not finished yet, but it will be this week :c) All of the ingredients are organic and smell heavenly!

We had such a great time! We ate pizza & cheesecake, cranked the music up LOUD and got to work. The girls danced (okay, I admit it, I was guilty of shakin' my groove thang too ;c) ) and we discussed possible future projects. Kaitlyn, did you order your Converse???

Enjoy the slideshow below :c)

Kreativ Blogger Award

My friend Susan awarded me with the Kreativ Blogger Award tonight and with it comes a responsibility.

So here are the rules for the Kreativ Blogger Award:
List six things that make you happy. Pass the award along to six more bloggers. Do not give the typical answers and go for the less obvious, as you all know that family, friends, God, etc would be on the list.

1.) Chocolate. Anything that smells, looks or tastes like it makes me a very happy girl :c)

2.) Cold temperatures and the fireplace going. It makes the den so cozy.

3.) When Anna Kate gets sleepy, climbs on my lap and falls asleep sucking her thumb.

4.) THE BEACH!!! I can't explain how happy being at the beach makes me. It wouldn't take much convincing for me to become a professional beach bum.

5.) When Jeff & I get the giggles about something. Especially when we're in church and shouldn't be laughing.

6.) Watching our two crazy dogs play. They are certifiable, I tell ya...

Now, I award this highly desired Kreativ Blogger Award to -

From The Sofa...

I am currently on the sofa dying from a sinus infection. I spent the day in my office sneezing, coughing, sniffing and blowing my snoz. Oh what fun it was...

I have lots to update on, but unfortunately my squinting, burning eyes just can't stay open long enough to get it on here. Sorry. I promise I will fill you in on Anna Kate's frog being moved to red last Thursday for pushing her friend at school. Our field trip on Friday and her frog being moved AGAIN Monday for spitting. *SIGH* I get stressed just thinking about it.

Until then, a-choo!!!

VeWii Sore Muscles

Good heavens! We bought a Wii Monday night and can I just say, oh.my.goodness.i'm.so.sore!!!! It amazes me how physical it is to play a video game. I did the fitness age test last night and I'm ashamed to say that Mr. Wii said my fitness age is 45. *Sigh* Don't worry Mr. Wii, I'm going to prove you wrong ;c)

And yes, I realize this post is pointless without pictures, but I have to master my bowling form before I will allow Jeff to take pictures...

Here Comes Santa Clause

Anna Kate had the opportunity to visit with Santa over the Thanksgiving holiday. He was an awesome Santa, who talked to her for a very long time. I absolutely loved the backdrop - it was so different from all the other Santa's.

This is reindeer food for each of Santa's reindeer :c)

We also stopped by the fresh water fish aquarium, where Anna Kate proceeded to 'work it'...

Just a cool train in Santa's Workshop

I haphazardly snapped this pic, but I LOVE how it turned out. I may have it made into a canvas.

**Note Anna Kate got a hair cut. I think this short bob looks so cute on her!**

CHRISTMAS DECORATING

I spent my entire weekend putting up Christmas decorations around the house and man was it hard work. Of course, I'm no where near finished, but it's a start.

I changed the exterior colors this year. I decided to do copper, ivory and a dark blue/green (to match our shutters).

Then there is my 'purple' tree. This tree has evolved over the past 7 or 8 years and I love it!!! Peacock feathers started out as my inspiration and I just went from there.

I've always done a themed tree for Jeff & I (purple being mine) and this year, I do believe his fishing tree is my favorite.

This year Anna Kate begged for a little tree in her playroom. Well we all know I couldn't say no. I just grabbed my collection of hand blown glass ornaments from the attic that my mom started for me when I got married and started decorating. It's so very simple, but I think it's so very cute ;c)

Are you wondering where that pink, prissy tree is? I saved the best for last!!!
Just in case you can't tell, Christmas is my absolute favorite time of the year. Now it's time to start wrapping gifts and putting them under the tree.
