Trick-Or-Treat!!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!!

Today was a TOT extravaganza at Anna Kate's school. It started at 8:30 when the entire school visited the local assisted living home. The kids were so cute in their costumes and the smiles on the faces of residents were priceless. Afterwards was TOT downtown at the different businesses. Oh my we walked all over creation. By the end we had lots and lots of tired, wilting, whiny and crying trick-or-treaters. That soon changed when we arrived back at the school for the class parties...and now I have two exhausted, hyper-active four year old girls playing in the playroom. It took them all of 3.2 seconds to destroy the house *sigh*

And now for what you all came for:

A Great Weekend!

This weekend was fairly laid back and easy going. I was off on Friday to attend Anna Kate's pumpkin patch field trip, which we were all excited about. Only problem is it was cancelled due to bad weather :c( Since I had already scheduled leave at work, I just decided to stay home with AK. It was a VERY low key day. Neither of us got out of our pj's and we napped/rested until after lunch. It was wonderful and something we both needed.

Saturday was 'play with me day' - basically I spend the entire day in her bedroom playing Barbie, dolls, grocery store, school and tickle monster. While we were in there the dogs decided to join in the fun. It's turning cool here, so both Bell and Barkley were shivering. Anna Kate thought Bell would enjoy being wrapped up in a blanket and then maybe she could fall asleep in the doll cradle. She was right!

And speaking of cold dogs. This is what I was greeted with when I walked into the kitchen one morning (their crate is in there).

After play time, Anna Kate and I headed to the nail shop and had our nails done. You know, royal treatment for the royal princess!

As I close this post, I will you with a special performance from tonight. But first....

It's Gonna Be A Long One...

How long has it been since I last blogged?! Seems like ages ago...and it was. Life has been so busy for us that I find myself walking in circles trying to figure out what I'm doing - it's crazy! I've had photo shoots (which involves a ton of computer editing), Auburn, work, school and the list goes on...

The most important news for this week is, *drum roll please*, Anna Kate is now sleeping in her own bed by herself. YIPPEE!!!!!!! :c) It has been a long, long, loooooonnnnnng 4 1/2 years of no sleep for me and it's wonderful to spread out again, but I'm so very proud of my big girl! She's proud of herself too. How did we finally accomplish this amazing feat? I swapped rooms; I put her bedroom in the playroom and the playroom in the bedroom. Her new bedroom is a little bigger and the layout of the room is better. Not to mention the natural light that fills the room. When I finished it (yes, that's right, I did e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g by myself. even took the bed apart, moved it and put it back together) I commented on how it looked so much like a 'big girl room' now. I don't know why, but it does and that's exactly why she likes it. Of course, this accomplishment doesn't come without bribery and rewards but hey, whatever works.

Here are a few very poor quality photos of her new room. (click to enlarge)

I have been wanting to do a special 'spotlight' post of sorts for a while, and although I took the photos a while back, I'm just now getting around to finishing it. My intentions were to do a separate post, but you're getting it here and now...

Sir Charles Barkley - aka 'Barkley'

Barkley is a very peculiar dog. He is an Italian Greyhound (basically a miniature Greyhound) and as you would expect he is EXTREMELY high strung. Poor boy needs to live on a track where he can run for miles! We joke that we should have named him Tazz...Unless you own one or have experience Sir Charles first hand, you do not fully understand his intensiveness. Seriously, he is bouncing off the walls.

But as active, annoying and spastic as he is, he is also the sweetest dog you will ever meet. He is one big, skinny, long legged snuggle bunny. He absolutely adores to cuddle. However, cuddling is not enough. His entire body must merge with yours. If you have an ache or pain don't pull out your heating pad. Instead, head over to our house and let Barkley curl up next to you - that boy is HOT! He makes you sweat when he lays next to you.

And finally, he MUST be the center of attention. It is nearly impossible to pet, play, cuddle or even talk to our other dog Bell (to be featured next week). Nope, he will have none of that! He somehow bends, squeezes and forces himself between you and Bell.

He is the King!

Barkley is an 'all-or-nothing' type of dog. He's either wide open or conked out on the sofa.

This past weekend I did a few things around the house that I've been wanting to complete. Nothing spectacular, just making the house a little more festive.

My beaded pumpkins on the coffee table

I haven't a clue what kind of flowers these are, but I thought they were beautiful and would look perfect on the dining room table. (Them bad boys were $5 a stem!)

Cheese Popcorn, Dr. Pepper & Dr. McDreamy

That's what my night consisted of last night :c)

I still can't believe it, but I had the house all to myself...Jeff took Anna Kate to Auburn yesterday afternoon to give me a little break and it was heaven on earth! I sat on the sofa with my laptop, cheese popcorn, Dr. Pepper and enjoyed one full hour of Grey's Anatomy without any interruptions - u.n.b.e.l.i.e.v.a.b.l.e!!! What a wonderful night it was *sigh*...

Today I'm headed to Auburn to meet up with my family and hopefully watch our beloved Tigers pull out a win. Have a great weekend and War Eagle!

The Morning After...

*Sigh*.... Was is it all a bad dream or did we really get beat by Vandy? My Auburn Tigers laid a ginormous egg last night. Could it have been because we forgot to buy and eat our lucky chocolate chip cookies that we eat before every.single game? Or maybe it was the fact that my lucky panties were in the washing machine... There are a million reasons why we lost the game last night, but one thing is for sure, Coach Tubs better be making a 'statement' in the coach's meeting today!!!

Off to church to pray for my Tigers...
