How Was Your Day?
And apparently Anna Kate's first day back to school was fantastic! She is in great spirits and I can tell that her being back in a structured environment was what she needed. She is so much like my baby brother was when he was little, in that my mom, grandmother or I had to constantly entertain him. I can remember him asking, 'Mom, tell me what I can do....I'm bored." Anna Kate is *exactly* like that. She is not very skilled in the self-entertainment area.
But onto the good stuff - she came home with a fun project. She had a large piece of heavy duty cardstock cut into the shape of a turkey feather. We had to decorate it however we wanted using items from around the house or outside. Anyone who knows my child knows she chose items from outside before I even had a chance to list the sparkly, girly things from inside (and anyone who knows me knows I do not like the outdoors, hence the enticement of pink glitter, glue, etc). I changed my clothes, grabbed two flashlights and out we went, in the dark, hunting for decorations for the turkey feather. I do believe my daughter has inherited a touch of mine and my mother's OCD, because I mentioned picking up 'a' pine cone and I think I counted 18 in the bucket when we came in.
Well enough of the suspense -I know you're all on the edge of your seats waiting to see this fancy turkey feather, so I will oblige you.
My silly turkey with her decorated turkey feather. A close up of the feather.
