Fresh air will do wonders for a person after being shut up in the house for months because of unusually cold temperatures, rain and yes, even snow....but most recently, sickness.
Anna Kate had a little money she wanted to spend at the Dollar Tree, so she tucked it safely in her wallet and off we went. She knew exactly how much she had to spend so she was very methodical in selecting the items she wanted to buy. We carried the items to the registered where she counted out exactly $5.40 ALL.BY.HERSELF. She didn't need my help at all. She was so proud of herself, but I think I was even more proud!!!
One of the items she bought was silly string.
She tried hiding from my silly string attack :)
And then she posed for one picture
On a side note, I had a bunch of scrap yarn from several projects I've been working on and thought, "what could I do with all of this?"
I set it out where the birds will hopefully grab it up and make nests in our trees :) Yes, I'm a dork!
Anna Kate had been begging for new bedding, but I was able to hold her off a little while by giving in and purchasing Hannah Montana sheets. That compromise satisfied her for all of 4 days and then she moved on to begging for a Hannah Montana comforter set. I shot that down immediately. I don't 'do' character themed rooms. I just don't like them....ever. So once again, we compromised.
*Edited to add: Yes, I realize the name frame is hanging too high above the bed, but there was already a nail there from an existing frame and I was too sick/weak to lower it at the time.*
I'm not 100% finished, but overall, this is the final look. I will probably play around with art placement, etc., but we both LOVE the new colors :) Don't you?
Oh, and Bell was real quick in claiming her spot in the pillows. Ha!
So as you know, I went to Anna Kate's Valentine's Day party at school last Tuesday. While I was there one of the mother's told me that a terrible stomach virus was going around and that her daughter, who happens to sit across from AK, had had it the previous weekend. Any guess where I'm going with this????
Wednesday afternoon I started to feel like my lunch wasn't sitting well. By 4:30 I was...how should I put it?....completely out of commission. Ugggg, I thought I was near death's door. Seriously.
Despite Jeff's fervent efforts to keep Anna Kate away from it, she woke me up at 4:30 Friday morning saying her tummy hurt bad. We didn't even make it to the bathroom. Two down. And, by 11:30 Friday night, Jeff began his love fest with the throne. Sick doesn't begin to explain how Lee Party of 3 felt, but we are all on the mend now and I have some cute pics coming in my next post :)
Even though she was sick and puny, she's still too stinkin' cute!
I realize this is two days late, however I have a great excuse! As you know, Friday was a snow day so there was no school and in turn no class Valentine party, and yesterday was a holiday. Sooo today, Anna Kate went back to school and had her class party. They didn't do the traditional school party foods, but instead had ice cream sundaes. It was cute! They had vanilla Blue Bell ice cream with M&M's, Skittles, chocolate chips, cherries, chocolate syrup, butterscotch and whipped topping for toppings. Anna Kate chose M&M's, Skittles, chocolate chips & whipped topping....that's my girl....nothing to crazy :)
The class during reading time
Party time!
Typical giggly girl...typical boy. LOL
Time for ice cream
Jacob has to be the cutest little boy I've ever seen. AK definitely agrees *snicker*

A good time was had by all, and a special THANK YOU to Mrs. Orr, who has the most amazing ability to calm, discipline and love 18 wild & crazy 5 year olds all at the same time!!!
And before I close, let me wish my parents a very HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! How sweet to have a Valentine's Day wedding anniversary :)
Don't believe it snows in South Alabama? Well see for yourself....
Even the big guy had to admit it was cool!
That this was funny...
And then it was Anna Kate's turn, however, I should mention that these pictures are out of order as we were up and outside by 7:30 a.m.
Let me introduce you to....*drum roll please*...."sNowCarly" :c)
Aren't they purty?
Now, if we can make it through the night without the power going out, things will be awesome!
I think we can all agree that she no longer looks like my little baby. She is so grown up :(
She even blows her own hair dry...
Just listen to her read!!!

I will roll this like a scribe and tie with pink satin ribbon

I'm going make her a custom passport for Epcot :)
I've already made the Character Autograph book...just waiting on it to arrive.
