Last Day of Kindergarten

Is it really true or am I dreaming that my baby will officially be a first grader in less than five hours? Honestly, it feels like a dream.



When I compared the first day of school to the last day, OMG, the difference shocked me. She still looked like my baby on the first day...now she looks like a little diva ;c) LOL!

Daddy / Daughter Dance Rehearsal

Anna Kate's recital is coming up and in it is a special number with the princesses (daughters) and the princes (dads). They had their first rehearsal Saturday. Take a look :) Be sure to listen to the lyrics of the song. PRECIOUS!

Singing Snaggle Tooth

We had a great weekend! It wasn't nearly long enough, but it was great all the same. Saturday Anna Kate and I stayed in the pool all.day. We got in around 10 AM and out at 4:45 PM with a lunch break in between. We were both exhausted but had SO much fun!! It's time like those I hope she will look back on and smile :c)

Yesterday was a typical Sunday - church in the morning, lunch on the lake, resting for the afternoon and then back to church for Anna Kate's Choir Recognition program. She was so cute and did a wonderful job. I was very proud that she memorized John 3:16 and recited it for the program. They were all too sweet and cute! But before we left for the program Anna Kate's second tooth came out (well, Jeff pulled it). She was the cutest singing snaggle tooth ever!

Field Day 2010

Today was Anna Kate's first Field Day at school. To say she had fun would be a complete understatement. It was extremely hot though, and I have to admit, I was assigned to the dunking booth and at first I was slightly (okay, REALLY) concerned that I would have to get in the thing, but at 2:00 this afternoon after standing in the full sun in 91* temps with zero breeze...I was HOPING to get in it. Phew! It was still a lot of fun though!

I'm quite sure a bird could have landed in my mouth this morning when I pulled Anna Kate's spring test scores out of her backpack!

Letter Naming Fluency: 97 (AK score) / 40 (benchmark)
Nonsense Word Fluency: 87 (AK score) / 25 (benchmark)

To quote her teacher, "WOW!"

Water Bug & Fashion-ista

We put our pool up last weekend and Anna Kate just couldn't wait for it to fill up before getting in.

Since that time she & I have pretty much spent every spare moment swimming, jumping, floating and splashing. It's going to be a fun summer!

A Night With the Queens

Let me make this clear first - we do not participate in the local pageant scene. Anna Kate has friends who do, and naturally, that results in AK wanting to, but so far I have managed to hold her off...phew!

Last night the Miss Eufaula queens hosted a Relay for Life fundraiser called 'A Night With the Queens'. Girls of all ages, starting at 4 years, attended for a registration fee of $25 each. With that they were treated to new hair styles, makeup, pedicures, craft project, karaoke, and ending with a crowning ceremony for each girl to receive her own crown...and they did all of this in their pajamas. So cute! It was a four hour event, which ended up raising $1600 for the American Cancer Society :c) Anna Kate said she had a great time!

When we finally got home AK literally passed out and slept until 7:40 this morning (trust me, that's LATE) and is now napping. She had so much fun, but it wore her out!
