Completed Projects

I spent three days of my Christmas break painting these for Anna Kate's new playroom. The room is done in black, white, pink and zebra accents.

(All free hand, by the way!)

I will have to take pictures this weekend once I finish THIS PROJECT. Going to do three of them in pink, white & black, and then the room should be complete.

Anna Kate has become a lover of boots this winter. Such the fashion-ista.

Wardrobe:
- Old Navy Skinny Jeans
- Black fur boots (Wal-Mart)
- Black cross tee (Aunt Stacy)
- Black glamour purse (Target)

Isn't she precious?!

And finally, my friend and co-worker finally got around to exchanging our Christmas gifts. I guess they were more like New Year's gifts. Ha! Anyway, her daughter Kaitlyn (AK's babysitter) gave Anna Kate the best gift. I'm looking forward to spending this cold weekend playing with it :c)

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a Happy New Year! It's back to the old grind for me, and let me say that after nearly two weeks off, it was very hard to come back to work yesterday. School starts back tomorrow, so Anna Kate will be getting back into her routine as well. She does have a terrible head cold, but we're trying our best to knock it out before tomorrow.

On New Year's Eve we went to an 80's themed party. I was so excited to dress up and do my makeup. Unfortunately, I had my hair cut the day before, so I wasn't able to duplicate my 80's hairstyle, but I went all out on the rest. Funny thing though, it wasn't difficult at all to find 80's inspired apparel...it's coming back in style :c) Here are a few photos from the night.

We are really going to have our hands full with this duo!!!

The girls were petering out....

But girls being girls, they needed a momma to lay with them too

We had a great time, but we realized that we are OLD! I can't do that late night stuff anymore. And to prove my point even more, the Auburn bowl game was at 10:00.....TEN AM. Now how brilliant is that the morning after New Year's Eve?! We survived though and won the game :)

It is freezing cold here. Believe it or not, the wind chill this morning was 8*. The weather man all but promised snow Thursday night, and let me warn you, if we do get any accumulation at all, you will be looking at pictures of the Lee family sledding on trash can lids!

So in the spirit of the arctic temperatures, I bought AK a pair of knock-off Uggs for $12 at Wal-Mart. Doesn't she look so cute in them?

New Year.....New Projects

I know it's not officially 2010 yet, but it is the week of. I normally use this time off from work to complete a few projects I've had in mind during the year, and this year is no different.

First up was the playroom re-do. Anna Kate was ready for a more grown up look and since I spend as much time in there as she does, we decided to go for something that we both like. I didn't take any pictures of the completed playroom simply because I have a few more art pieces to paint for the wall, but I'm finished, I will take pics. In the meantime, here is one piece I did yesterday.

I hand painted the zebra print on the mat and added a pink border. I'm having the next pic printed as 11x14 for it. I can't wait!

Next was a new chair for AK's desk in her bedroom. E, Jeff's mom, gave me one of her old ladder back chairs (I think she told me it was her grandfather's) a month or two ago. I painted it white and converted one of AK's many bed pillows into a cushion and tied it on. I love it!

And finally, I've picked up crocheting again. It is so relaxing to me. These are a few my latest pieces.

This is an iPod pouch. It was my first one, so don't laugh.

I'm proud of this one! There are some things I will do differently on the next one, but AK loves it, so I'm happy :c)

Yesterday was an all-day pajama day...we enjoyed doing projects and playing games. Mama won the first game of Candyland :c) Daddy won the next two. Poor AK.....we are an extremely competitive family.

And now I'm headed for the shower and Wal-Mart to get supplies for my next project for the playroom :c)

Christmas 2009

I'm just toooo tired to type out a play-by-play, but in short, we all had a GREAT Christmas. I missed seeing my family, but we were lucky to have spent some of our day with E & D, Jeff's Mom and Aunt. Below is a slide show I threw together for you :)

Class Christmas/Pajama Party

We had so much fun at Anna Kate's class party this morning. All the children came dressed in their warm pj's and slippers. So.Cute! After the party I checked her out and let her go home with her BFF Anslee, while I came to work. We'll be leaving when I get off, headed to North Alabama for the Lee Family Christmas. It's cold and raining (again)....would love some snow, but I'm sure it's not in the cards. A girl can dream. Especially one from West Virginia who grew up with snow on the ground during the Holidays....

Dance Class Christmas Party

Last night was Anna Kate's dance class and Christmas party. After making sure my Ark could make it through downtown, we got out and ran in like crazy people in the 72-hour monsoon we're still experiencing. Since it was a special occasion, Mrs. Kelly (the instructor) allowed the girls to wear whatever they wanted. (Normally they have to wear a black leotard, pink tights and can wear a skirt of their choice. The girls were so excited to break out something different.) They danced for an hour and fifteen minutes and then 'partied' the remaining 45 minutes. They had such a good time and Mrs. Kelly made all the girls the cutest little pink drawstring bags for their ballet shoes. Thanks Mrs. Kelly!
