My work schedule is crazy busy right now, and it's taking some extensive and detailed planning to manage this household. My life has become laundry at night, up at 5 AM to prep for the day, color coded calendar entries (oh, who am I kidding....that's my favorite part about all of this), preparing dinner at lunch so Jeff can just stick it in the oven, and leaving notes on the fridge. I just keep telling myself it's only temporary, the extra funds will be great, and I'm ensuring job security both with my employer and my husband ;-) Right?!
Well, the first game of the 2013 season is complete and with a 'W' marked beside it!!! MAJOR IMPROVEMENT from last year, although we are still a very young team, and have some growing up to do. That, and #5 is possibly the slower person on the face of the earth...HOW did he win that position!!!!!!! Nevertheless, it was a win and it felt great!!!!! Plus, UGA lost :-)
Tonight is our first game of the new Auburn season. It's a new year, a new coach, new players and a new game plan. The Auburn Family is ready for this new beginning. After riding the high winning the National Championship to the debacle of last year, winning only three games...yeah, we're ready!!! There is a buzz in the air again, filled with excitement, expectations...basically everything :-) War Eagle!!!!
We hosted our home swim meet yesterday, which is A LOT of work for the parents, but it really went well. Coaches from the visiting teams were very complimentary of how smooth things went :)
EWR placed first in overall points, and AK beat her personal best time in the backstroke. She placed 2nd or third in every one of her six events, except for one, and that was 5th. GREAT JOB!!!!!
This was the ad we put in the Heat Sheet (lists the events for all swimmers....kind of like a program.)
I got a couple of new photography backdrops, and wanted to do a quick practice run with AK. I only tested one, but I can't wait to try the others.
