It's Gonna Be A Long One...

How long has it been since I last blogged?! Seems like ages ago...and it was. Life has been so busy for us that I find myself walking in circles trying to figure out what I'm doing - it's crazy! I've had photo shoots (which involves a ton of computer editing), Auburn, work, school and the list goes on...

The most important news for this week is, *drum roll please*, Anna Kate is now sleeping in her own bed by herself. YIPPEE!!!!!!! :c) It has been a long, long, loooooonnnnnng 4 1/2 years of no sleep for me and it's wonderful to spread out again, but I'm so very proud of my big girl! She's proud of herself too. How did we finally accomplish this amazing feat? I swapped rooms; I put her bedroom in the playroom and the playroom in the bedroom. Her new bedroom is a little bigger and the layout of the room is better. Not to mention the natural light that fills the room. When I finished it (yes, that's right, I did e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g by myself. even took the bed apart, moved it and put it back together) I commented on how it looked so much like a 'big girl room' now. I don't know why, but it does and that's exactly why she likes it. Of course, this accomplishment doesn't come without bribery and rewards but hey, whatever works.

Here are a few very poor quality photos of her new room. (click to enlarge)

I have been wanting to do a special 'spotlight' post of sorts for a while, and although I took the photos a while back, I'm just now getting around to finishing it. My intentions were to do a separate post, but you're getting it here and now...

Sir Charles Barkley - aka 'Barkley'

Barkley is a very peculiar dog. He is an Italian Greyhound (basically a miniature Greyhound) and as you would expect he is EXTREMELY high strung. Poor boy needs to live on a track where he can run for miles! We joke that we should have named him Tazz...Unless you own one or have experience Sir Charles first hand, you do not fully understand his intensiveness. Seriously, he is bouncing off the walls.

But as active, annoying and spastic as he is, he is also the sweetest dog you will ever meet. He is one big, skinny, long legged snuggle bunny. He absolutely adores to cuddle. However, cuddling is not enough. His entire body must merge with yours. If you have an ache or pain don't pull out your heating pad. Instead, head over to our house and let Barkley curl up next to you - that boy is HOT! He makes you sweat when he lays next to you.

And finally, he MUST be the center of attention. It is nearly impossible to pet, play, cuddle or even talk to our other dog Bell (to be featured next week). Nope, he will have none of that! He somehow bends, squeezes and forces himself between you and Bell.

He is the King!

Barkley is an 'all-or-nothing' type of dog. He's either wide open or conked out on the sofa.

This past weekend I did a few things around the house that I've been wanting to complete. Nothing spectacular, just making the house a little more festive.

My beaded pumpkins on the coffee table

I haven't a clue what kind of flowers these are, but I thought they were beautiful and would look perfect on the dining room table. (Them bad boys were $5 a stem!)
